Reports to: Principal/Administrator  
Salary: $30,300 - $43,849 DOE -  Additional Prop 301 funds up to  $4,500 - Full benefits package  
     
Duties & Responsibilities: Meets and instructs assigned classes at designated locations and specific times.

Plans a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.

Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.

Prepares for assigned classes, and shows written evidence of preparation upon the request of immediate superior.

Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.

Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and‑‑in harmony with the goals‑‑establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects and the like.  Communicates these objectives to students.

Employs a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media; consistent with the physical limitations of the provided location and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved.

Strives to implement, by instruction and action, the district's philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives.

Assesses the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provides progress reports as required.

Recognizes and evaluates the learning and other disabilities of students on a regular basis;  seeks the assistance or referral of district specialists as required.

Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.

Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation.

Assists the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct; and, for the classroom, develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure, and maintains order in the classroom in a fair and just manner.

Makes provision for being available to students and parents for education‑related purposes outside the instructional day when required or requested to do so under reasonable terms.

Plans and supervises purposeful assignments for teacher aide(s) and volunteer(s).

Strives to maintain and improve professional competence.

Attends requisite staff meetings and serves on staff committees as needed.

Performs other necessary duties as assigned.

Job Title: SUBSTITUTE TEACHER

Reports to: Substitute Coordinator/School Site Administrative Assistant  
Salary: Daily $75.00   
     
Duties & Responsibilities: Reports to the school secretary upon arrival at the school building.

Reviews all plans and schedules to be followed during the teaching day.

Maintains as fully as possible the established routines and procedures of the school and classroom to which assigned.

Teaches the lesson outlined and described in the Substitute Teacher's Folder as prepared by the absent teacher.

Consults as appropriate with the building principal before initiating any teaching or other procedures not specified in the Substitute Teacher's Folder.

Assumes responsibility for overseeing pupil behavior in class and during lunch and recess periods.

Reports in writing on the day's activities at the conclusion of each teaching day.

Follows all policies, rules, and procedures to which regular teachers are subject and which good teaching practice dictates.

To perform other duties that may be necessary to assign.

Job Title: TEMPORARY INSTRUCTIONAL AIDE I  
Category: Classified  
Reports to: Principal  
Salary: $10.25  Per Hour  
     
Duties & Responsibilities: Works with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning of material or skills initially introduced by the teacher.

Assists the teacher in devising special strategies for reinforcing material or skills based on a sympathetic understanding of individual students, their needs, interests and abilities.

Operates and cares for equipment used in the classroom for instructional purposes.

Distributes and collects workbooks, papers and other materials for instruction.

Guides independent study, enrichment work and remedial work set up and assigned by the teacher.

Assists with the supervision of students during emergency drills, assemblies, play periods, lunch periods and field trips.

Maintains the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as is expected of fully licensed teachers.

Participates in inservice training programs as assigned.

Alerts the regular teacher to any problem or special information about an individual student.

Serves as the chief source of information and help to any substitute teacher assigned in the absence of the regular teacher.

Assists with lunch, snack and cleanup routines.

Performs clerical tasks.

Performs other related duties as required by supervisor.
